advise needed please. car has around 111,000. car has a strange vibration coming from engine when driving most noticeable in 2nd gear around 2000+ revs.

no decrease in power will cruise at 70 and plus if needed - no warning lights

its had a fuel filter change today (was happening before this). no smoke out back.

when changing oil, I noticed the passenger side bottom cover was covered in oil, this was not there a few months ago when service was last done. anything common on these engines to leak.

I doubt these two issues are related but I thought I would put them as one, saves me putting 2 posts.

any advice would be appreciated.

anyone?

Is the oil dirty black engine oil or clean transmission oil, if its gearoil then it may be a driveshaft problem, does the vibration go away if you dip the clutch or let your foot off the gas when it happens?

Pete.

Thanks Pete, as far as I can remember it was black engine oil, which places can it leak from on the gearbox side of engine. I will have to take cover off and get it cleaned and find leak. weather is not on my side at the moment.

what are you thinking flywheel?....?

Hi Pete, its engine oil, one of the clamps on the rubber pipe was loose, hopefully this was the problem, I will monitor this.

have a look of condition of the driveshaft,we have put the original driveshaft in, remember we had some clicking and we changed the driveshaft but that did not cure it.

one of the ball bearings have came off the tripod thing. sorry about the dark picture
