if you are referring to the belt driven 1cd-ftv engine.

the 1 above?

no not that I know off, if it was was on the max mark and now its barely touching the min that's fair amount of oil lost.

its either 1.5L or 1L between the min and max markings I remember reading it in the manual.

double check the around the oil filter and sump plug if it has recently been serviced.

how long have you had the car?

Yes its the 1cd-ftv belt drive...I've owned it 6 years now never had a problem ever unlike the 1.8vvti oil drinker I also had.no oil leaks from what I could see.although the wife drives it.and she does a lot of short stop start drives.also there is oil inside the turbo from the clean air side/air box hose.the smaller hose from the crankcase is also covered in oil.i can't find the pub valve on this engine?

Sounds to me that your turbo seal has gone, that is where the oils going. You say your wife does lots of short trips. A turbo needs to be warmed up before driving and cooled down after driving, simply put, the engine needs to idle for five minutes before you drive off and five minutes before you switch off. The reason? Well a turbo spins at around 22000 rpm when you drive around town and can get up to 100000 rpm when you drag race from light to light, when you just turn the engine off the turbo is still going at mark 10 and the oil supply has suddenly stopped, which means the bearings in the turbo are running dry, this leads to oil loss as the heat from that can damage the oil seals. If you want to fix it you need to get it to a specialist, turbos are finely balnced devices, while you at it have a turbo protector fitted, there are two versions, ignition and oil pressure, both could lenghten the life of your turbo. The oil in the small pipe is from the crank case rebreather, that is normal.Sorry I could not give you a quike fix and also the repairs on a turbo are quite expensive.

Hope this helped.
