Bulb Connectors?

Hi folks, I'm unsure if the topic title is the correct wording but here's my problem. After noticing my low beam bulb wasn't working, I went to replace the it. Upon closer inspection however, the bulb was fine and it turns out the connector which the bulb plugs into has overheated and its basically frazzled! Is this a common problem and is it just a case of tracking down another fitting and joining the cables or is it a bit more complicated than that? Any advice would be appreciated!

Its just wear and tear, buy a new holder and then check to see if it melts again, if it does then time to search for the cause. Its probably wear and tear, dont worry about it.

What wattage bulbs are fitted? Should be 55 watt - anything higher could be the reason for the overheating. I'd also check the other side as a precaution.

This is common problem yes, but only experienced by people using super hyper extra bright 200w bulbs from china which are supposed to be 500% brighter than stock ones. I suggest checking the bulb type first.
