Ive read a few posts on the forum that mention the 2.2D engine goes through a re generation cycle every so often. Could anyone kindly explain a bit more about this plz?

T180/SR180 2.2D Auris are fitted with a DPNR filter in the exhaust, this collects diesel particulates within the filter and once suitably full is regenerated ( emptied ) by the engine ECU injecting diesel via a 5th injector into the DPNR this creates very high temperatures inside the filter to burn of the particulates held within a "Regeneration".
