Car Making Clonk Noise

Since we brought the Auris 11', when the steering wheel is fully turned to one side, as the steering wheel locks (as it goes too far and cannot go further), at this point it makes a clonk sound. On both sides, weather right or left turned. Then lets say the car is on a kerb, as your slowly reversing off it, it makes a screeching sound when coming down and then goes. I don't know what this is, its just annoying and don't know if its a problem.
