Slight Knock At The Front When Brakes Touched.

I have a slight knock at the front (could be drivers side) when I apply my brakes ,it's just a one knock and only happens when the car is moving forward and not in reverse.I have had a good look after removing the front wheel , all joints look good have no play in them.I did notice though that the brake disc ( which I replace a while ago) does have a little play on the wheel studs.Could this be it, i don't know but am open to suggestions.

Thanks LCDCH02

If you have a Gen 7 the front pads are held into the pad carrier with brake wear indicator clips which are spring loaded (one on each of the 4 pads) if one is missing you may get a slight knock when touching the brakes.

Sometimes the pad can move slightly in the caliper, a bit of copper grease on the back of the shim stops it.

Might be worth making sure the calipers are on tight as well.

Thanks everyone, I have removed and cleaned the springs on the caliper and cleaned the pads. I have also applied copper-slip to the rear of the pads and on the retaining springs....No More Knock... :-)
