Hi

I am the owner of a Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D 2007 T2 and is covered until know 168 000 miles. Before one week is started to loosing water and i filling up. I visit a mechanic and he say to me that you may have problem with head gasket or a broken engine block and will cost me so much to replace or fix. We checked the radiator and it was not leaking but it spills the water from the side of the radiator cup when the engine was running in high rpm. The engine was never overheated.

Is anyone have the same problem?

Thanks

Hello Stavros - welcome to Toyota Owners Club

Have a look at the following topic: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/132178-charliefarlies-guide-to-the-toyota-2ad-diesel-engine-and-its-issues/

At 168,000 miles though, you will be outside the goodwill warranty extension of 7 years or 111,846 miles.

Running at high revs increases the pressure in the cylinders, and therefore the likeliness of combustion gas escaping into the coolant system through any small gaps. Once the pressure is high enough it'll throw coolant out the header tank or the radiator cap. Sorry but it sounds to me like your mechanic is probably right.
