Hello everyone!

This is my first post here on this board so I hope this question hasn't been asked too many times.

I'm about to buy a 1990 Toyota p/u. But I wanted to make sure that I got the model with the most reliable engine for that year or close to that year.

I've heard bad things about the V6 3.0 litre, so I was wondering if they were true, and if I should opt for the 4 banger.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a ton,

-Beau

Pretty much all Toyota engines have good reputations for reliability, but the 22R/22RE seem to last the longest from what I've read. If I were you I'd just get a 4 cyl. {actually I'd buy a chevy} cause they're easier to work on. All Toyotas are slow, so you may as well get the most reliable and economic one.
