Hybrid Battery Warrenty

Whilst at Our local dealers yesterday I picked up a booklet for Toyota owners. On reading it appears that Hybrid batteries on cars registered after April 2014 now only have a five year warrenty instead of the previous eight years. Does this suggest eight years was a bit opomistic?

The following provides information on the current warranty arrangements for Hybrid batteries.

I suppose the Hybrid Health Check which extends the warranty for 1 year/10,000 miles and can cover cars up to their 10th anniversary of the car's first registration, effectively replaces the longer portion of the previous Battery warranty. The Hybrid Health Check is done for free with a service, or (I suppose if servicing is done outside the dealer network or similar) can be paid for at a cost of £39,

Providing you have the car serviced inside the Toyota dealer network, you can get up to ten years warranty, the the Hybrid Health check and 12 month warranty are performed during the service

It just brings the whole warranty all under the 5 year 100K banner
