Mileage From A Full Tank On Yaris 14 Icon Plus

Hi,

I'm just wondering what mileage people get from a full tank in a Yaris mk3 1.33?

I'm getting about 360 per tank and I think it's a 42 litre tank.

The average mpg for the tank full according to the computer is ~50mpg. To me that doesn't add up.

Also, how much is in the tank when the refill light comes on? My old Fabia had about 30 miles.

Thanks,

Stu.

300 - 350 Miles in a tank on my Mk3 SR CVT Auto

Really depends on how i drive.

Im guessing there is about 6 to 7 litres left in the tank when the light comes on , probably got a good 20-25 miles left , although it says about 10 miles left on the touch screen,

What's your engine?

My all-time record in my Mk1 D4D was a bit under 800 miles; My current and normal average is generally 550-600. The 1.0 can usually get near that but the 1.3 tends to get a good chunk less.

Might be worth checking tyre pressures as jacking them up a few psi can make a fair difference up to a point. Might be environment tho' - e.g. if you drive around hilly places, that really hurts the mpg, esp. in a petrol!

You cannot work out an MPG accurately like that, the fuel left in the tank will be at least 10 litres

Best to work it out on a fill to fill basis, use something like Fuelly to make the working out easier

Kingo

my mk2 1.33 used to be about 50 - 54mpg average and miles out of a tank (not letting it get down to the last mark on the fuel gauge) used to be about 330

Based on brim to brim fills our Icon+cvt does over 500 miles to a tank. However, the gauge and trip computer like to err on the side of caution and they have had me filling at anything between 350 - 400.

If the tank is truly 42ltrs (plus at least 1 in the filler neck) I reckon the low fuel light comes on with 10 litres in the tank, quite a high percentage of the total capacity.

Yeah, I'm thinking there is quite a lot in the tank when the warning light comes on. I brimmed it yesterday when the light was on and put in 36.25L. So I reckon there is 1.25Gal which is about 60 miles.

The fuel gauge pretty much looses any accuracy once past half way, and the warning light can turn on even with over a quarter tank left if the car is on an incline or highly cambered road!

When I got my first Yaris D4D, I decided to see how far I could drive on the last blinky fuel block, and managed about 100 miles before I bottled it and ducked into an Esso (Worst diesel ever  but that's another topic!)!
