Alloys Wheel

Can anyone advise me how I can source the alloys, that will fit, my gen 6 Celica, Jap import 1995, convertible.

The current wheels are very very shabby 17" Ace alloys which are past refurbishment so I need to replace. My problem is that I am sure that 17" anythings are not original to this car. Adding to my confusion further...inside the wheels and on the hub there are some spacers. I am sure I am getting too old for this but I cannot see what the purpose of these spacers are for. As far as I can tell I really need to look for 15" alloys ( original size ? ) but then I don't know if I need to keep the spacers or what or, indeed, I need to replace the current 17" for more 17" and keep the spacers..... sorry just very confused..

Any help to point me in the right direction would be gratefully accepted. I would also be open to buy a set if anyone has some that will fit.

What size wheels do you want to fit, Nigel?, 15's, 16's, or 17's?

The spacers are fitted so the wheels don't look sunken into the arches, and can be retained as long as you don't fit wheels with a really low ET/Offset. Without all the relevant sizes, spacer width/rim width/tyre size/rim Offset, it's impossible to calculate what will fit, and what will rub on the wheel arch.

I have a set of unmarked 17's for sale that will fit your car, but from your post, I'm unsure what size you really want to replace the shabby 17's.

HTH :)

Hello there,

Many thanks for this...

I was looking for 15's as ( I understand ) that size would have been the original rim size. That said I am not too worried if I went to 16's or 17's just as long as they were much better than the ones I have and, most of all, the fit ok.

What type of 17's do you have please ? where abouts are you? and most importantly.. how much ?

Regards

Hiya again,

Many thanks for that...

Your wheels look great but would be much much too good for the car I have... shame though it is.

Thanks though

Regards

I suspected you might not want to spend that much. Good luck in your search anyway :)
