Front Brake Disc Removal

Which way do you turn the nut that holds the disc on a Avensis T3X. And does it need a lot of force. Thanks

The discs are not held in place with a nut. Once you've removed the caliper you need to uunbolt the caliper carrier bracket - two bolts on the inboard face of the hub.

Then the disc will fall away - it may need a few whacks with a mallet to dislodge the build up of rust.

Mine needed more than a few whacks - !Removed! good job I was changing them because I had to knock lumps out of the passenger side to free it off - even after soaking in WD40. I also had to run bolts through the threaded holes to push the disc off the hub as I whacked it to shock it lose. Didn't think it was going to come off but it did in the end.

When I changed mine yo MTEC they came off with just a couple of wacks too...
