Cd Player For Yaris

Can anyone tell me how to get hold of a single cd player to fit in the slot on the dash. I have contacted Toyota direct who have quoted me over £300! At the moment I only have a standard factory fitted radio and understand that this makes things very difficult with the Yaris. Help!

I have been told that using an aftermarket one causes all kinds of problems because the radio is integrated. Most places I have tried have refused to fit an aftermarket one saying it will blow up!

It will blow up ???????? :ffs:

I have the cd player in my yaris and was thinking of adding a tape deck is the space underneath. Saw a Yaris in my local showroom with both the cd player and tape player . ( cant remember if it was the cd changer or the front loading system )

Let us know if you have any luck Kieryo

Both my local specialists and Halfords have said that the Yaris is the ultimate pain in the ....... when it comes to adding a CD player. I still don't really understand why a standard off the shelf player/radio can't be added but apparantly it really is not advised. Can anyone clarify? I know I can add a CD changer but really just wanted a single cd player that I can put in the space under the cassette player in the dash.

HELP!

Yeah that´s where I want to put my cassette player

Has the toyota dealer said any thing about what you want doing ?

After all they should have the best knowledge of the wiring for the yaris dashboard

it could just be somthing like needing a higher rated fuse or something in the fuse box

did Halfords and your specialist shops actually tell you why it is a nightmare to install

Another idea

It could be that a cd changer and front loading system have different power requirements or that the wiring needed is slightly different

MAybe in the Yaris the wiring is such that you would need to add more cables so it would work properly . Perhaps Halfords try to wire it up so it is trying to use a cable it shouldnt be using . Im just guessing as Im no car expert .

I still recommend talking to the dealer . They should be able to give the best advise

and if you have to pay a bit more then so be it . At least the job gets done right and with the dealer they cant fob you off afterwards by saying that they dont garuntee it will work with all cars blah blah ( you know what I mean )

Hi

Your options are:

single disc slot cd (in dash)

6 disc changer (in dash)

or 6 disc changer (fitted under passener seat)

All available at dealers - negotiate some discount if you place a stock order!

Hope this helps
