Leak Problem

On my 2009 Yaris TR a black solvent substance is leaking from the bottom of the two rear and front passenger doors and has settled into tar-like blobs on the bottom sills. Can anyone tell me what it is, how do I remove it and how can I prevent it happening again?

Sounds like some rust proofing substance - probably started to melt due to the current temperatures. Try something like Autoglym Tar Remover which should remove any traces without damaging the paintwork. Wash the affected area afterwards.

This was a known issue on 2009 Yaris the sealant used to bond the inner door membranes ran when the panels warmed up in the sun, to cure remove the door trims peel the membranes, wipe the sealant off with a solvent based wipe and reseal the membranes with a non setting butyl tape.
