Can I replace the spacesaver for a full size 17" alloy wheel in the spare wheel storage well on a 2009 Avensis tourer T27 model.

thanks.

Unlikely - if you're looking for a permanent install you may need to build a plinth out of fibre board around the full sized wheel to retain a flat boot floor.

hmm, it has one of those silly underfloor storage systems. Going to have a look this evening.

Thanks for the reply.

It should therefore have the capacity to stow a full sized wheel following a blow out.

The T25 Avensis definately will as I have one in mine, not sure about the T27 though. You could always take a wheel off the car and try it and this is also a great time to find out if someone (like tyre fitters and mechanics) has over tightened the wheel bolts, better to find out on your drive than on the hard shoulder of the motorway ;) .

Pete.

I wouldn't bother spending the money as you rarely get a puncture these days & a space-saver will tide you over. At least your car came with a space-saver rather than a can of repair sealant.

Hi, I have just joined the forum today, noticed your post,

I have an avensis tourer 2010 built november 2009, I have fitted a 17 inch alloy spare and it fits perfectly, with a longer hold down screw from a 2003 avensis, no need to build a plinth, have had no problems with luggage, the jack and accessories fit under the boot floor, hope this helps

swapped the hold down screws from my wifes 2003 t25 mk2 avensis, The longer t25 screw fitted the t27, the shorter t27 screw fitted the t25, I was lucky the hold down screw on my wifes 2003 avensis was longer,
