Clutch Thud When Changing Gear

I have had my 2009 auris 1.33 for a year now, 28,000 miles, noticed a while ago that the clutch makes a thud when lifting clutch between gears.. unless very careful on releasing clutch, its just been in to Toyota for a service and MOT, I asked for the clutch to be tested as I am still in warranty for another couple of weeks, they tell me its a characteristic of the car and they all do that, funny I only noticed it a few weeks ago and it seems to be getting worse, are they just fobbing me off till my warranty runs out, with that and the over revving between gears I think I will have to px it, shame.

The 'over revving' between gear changes is nothing to be concerned over - my 2006 Corolla, 2009 Auris and 2012 Auris all did this and as far as I'm aware is something to do with emissions control. As regards the clutch thud, none of mine have done that, so I would take it back for investigation.
