Hey guys! I want to get my VIN number, but I can't seem to locate it. Does anyone know where it is? I looked everywhere on the car, but had no luck. Thanks! :)

look on your v5 (ownership) document

Anuka's profile shows 'Other/nonUK', so presumably he or she won't have a V5. The VIN should be stamped on the top left of the instrument panel, visible through the windscreen, and on the manufacturers plate towards the bottom of the B pillar inside one of the front door openings.

Mine's also got stickers on the doors, bonnet and tops of the front wings.

It does indeed depend where in the World the owner is, but the registration document will have it on. I'm guessing most civilised places will have some form of forum ownership proof.

Thank you all for the quick replies! I'm from Sri Lanka, and my Prius is a Japanese model. I've attached a picture of the manufactures stamp. I don't see the VIN number there :/

Copied from Wikipedia:

"Japanese carmakers do not use a Vehicle Identification Number as is common in the United States and elsewhere. Instead, Japan uses a Frame Number—nine to twelve alphanumeric characters identifying model and serial number. For example, Frame Number SV30-0169266 breaks down as "V30" identifying the model as Toyota Camry/Vista x30; "S" identifying the engine (4S-FE), and "0169266" being the serial number of the vehicle. Vehicle make is not identified but slight number variations can identify the carmaker, i.e. Toyota usually uses seven digits for its serial numbers while Nissan uses six. Because a frame number contains far less information than a VIN, JDM vehicles also use a Model Code. As an example, SV30-BTPNK breaks down as "SV30", which means the same as above, and "BTPNK" which designates a set of features incorporated in the vehicle."

IIRC, when UK cars went over to VIN plates the early ones used to be Chassis number followed by the engine number
