Iq Owner, Soon

Today I've put a deposit down on an IQ2 '11 reg after a test drive. So in the next few days I expect to lurk here - I already learned about EGR issues and Toyota discontinuing the IQ in Europe. Useful forum!

Why the IQ? It's the smallest car I could find that also can carry my two grown kids. I did briefly look at the Smart and the Twizy (yes that Renault EV) but sanity peppered with eccentricity prevailed.

I always wanted a 'proper' Mini, but after owning an Allegro as my first car that pre-War A series engine in 2014 - I don't think so!! So the IQ popped up on my radar and it was great fun to drive, what more can I ask for. :)

Just waiting on my local Toyota dealer to get the car in then I will be driving around with a huge grin on my face.

Yeah, I'm gonna buy it. Although only the 1 litre auto, it is quite spritely though not as pokey as the 1.3 manual I test drove originally (as would be expected).

Picking it up on Monday from my local Toyota dealer.

So I picked it up today. Love it. Great fun to drive. Goes surprisingly well on the motorway and its only the 1l automatic.

My only reservation is there is so much electronics - it's usually the electrics that let me down! (Though those cars were French ...)
