New Car How Long Should It Take?

On 11 Match 2004 I ordered a 1.6, 5 door Automatic Corolla from the Colour Collection. I must point out that I need an automatic, because of my disability and that the car requires adapting to enable me to drive it. The adaption costs £1,650 and I get no help in it's supply and fitting (a part from that I don't pay VAT on the supply and fitting of the adaption) as i'm not eligible for Mobility. Anyway, a couple of weeks later I phoned the dealership up for a delivery date, it is then I'm informed that they could no longer supply the car as Toyota had reached the quota on that model :crybaby: Anyway after a bit of haggling I placed an order for a T3 Corolla on 1 April 2004, yes I know it was 'April Fools Day' and to this day the dealership cannot give me a delivery date. To say i'm P-i-s-s-e-d off would be putting it mildly. I feel like telling the dealership and Toyota to stick the car where the sun don't shine, but I really want this car and it would be even better if I could wangle a few freebies/upgrades out of the dealership. This is where I fall down, because i've never purchased a brand new car before and so don't know what to expect in the way of delivery and what to ask for if things take too long. So any help or advice would be most appreciated.

I think new cars that are in stock should only be about 1 week. Average is probably 2.

My wife bought a new one and because of spec and colour there was a wait of 6 weeks - I should point out that the dealer was able to give the delivery date at the time of order all be it that it was 6 weeks away.

Hope this helps.

I must admit that when placing the order I was told it would be delivered in June, but no specific date was given, so it could be June this year or next.

When I phoned the dealership on Saturday, they said that the car was still not showing up on their computer system and until it did they could not give a delivery date. I think that this rather poor customer service from both the dealership and Toyota.

I am expecting a phone call from the dealership tomorrow morning and if it is not to my liking I will more than likely phone Toyota GB to express my dissatisfaction.
