Hi avensisd4d786

It seems that you, Waqar and AVE I FIN, have similar noise issues that seem hard to trace.

I have said possible causes, and a process of elimination to a limited extent.

Take the belt off and spin the alternator by hand to see if the sound can be heard.

Your problem could be the bearings, or the belt or tensions might be worn or faulty. That is the problem with these serpentine belts, a lot of ancillaries are driven by one belt and the belt itself routed around lots of pulleys.

My car has 3 individual belts running less items. I can to an extent find the source of a noise by elimination.

It is very hard to pin sounds from recordings. What is needed is a directional or stethoscope microphone which will help locate the sound.

Sorry for being long winded.

Konrad

Hi Konrad, I'm going to have a proper look on the weekend, Just thought I would post a video just in case it was a 'common problem'.

I will post my findings, Hopefully it will help the other two.
