Hi guys,

Just pre-emptively joining the forum as I'm hopefully going to be picking up my new (to me) car tomorrow.

It's a '56 plate Celica GT in Thunder Grey with recently refurbished alloys in black.

It's also got a K&N induction kit as far as I can tell, other than that it looks stock.

No pictures, but once I've collected it I'll be back with photographic evidence!

For now though, here's a picture of my Mazda2 Sport which it is replacing (for sale), and my Lexus IS200 Sport which I shouldn't have sold. :(

Actually here is a quick picture off the advert for the car...

Can someone clarify what model it is by the way? Because I thought it was a GT (it has the 190hp VVTLi engine), but I was told that the GT only has 140hp?

Hello David - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

Have a look at the Honest John review - model history and specifications which shows the GT having 192bhp - http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/toyota/celica-2000/

I thought that version of the 190 was only VVT-i though? This one is VVTL-i. Someone else I just asked said the car in the picture is a GT-S?

I think the confusion comes when places like AutoTrader refer to the GT-S as just a GT.

This one has the VVTL-i, 6 speed box, leather interior, aluminium pedals and body kit of the GT-S, but everyone seems to use GT and GT-S interchangeably...

Hi David, welcome to the Toyota Owners Club! I hope you find here all information you are looking for and I hope you are willing to share your knowledge and experience with the other team members!

As this is the introduction section, I advice you to share your questions in the Celica Club on the forum, Big change that other members can answer your questions very quickly! !

Can you maybe sent me some information about the Mazda (by private message) you have up for sale? I might have somebody who is interested.

thanks!

Right, I've got to the bottom of the naming issue...

It is a GT afterall, because it's a UK model. However in America it was called a GT-S!
