Rav 4 1999 Giant - Lugs Security Nut Question

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could please help me?

When I bought my giant there was no security socket to remove the lug nuts on the wheel. Where would I be able to find the right socket for the lug security nuts for my wheels?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

I'm pretty sure a Toyota dealer would sort that out for you, although possibly at a price. They're also known as puzzle keys if it's any help.

Some tyre fitting places have the tools to remove the lock-nuts which may be cheaper.

I would suggest buying a new set before you go so you can replace the old ones

First of all check that the key number isn't with the car documents or written somewhere in the handbook. Otherwise it's an impossible task to match up lock nuts to keys since no-one will carry a range of keys that you can try. Tyre depots usually have a kit of removers - some locknuts are ridiculously easy to remove and you can buy a set for not much more than the price of a key. Many locknut sets come in 4's but if you've a back door spare wheel - you'll need a set of 5.
