Hello everybody. I am from York, Nth Yorkshire. I'm 62 years old and semi retired, after 23 years in nursing. (I was also a self employed mechanic in my 'other life'. I own 2 Yaris's. A 2004 1.4 diesel and a 2005 1.0 litre petrol (Black, colour collection). Well, that one belongs to the boss, er wife!!! The diesel has nearly 170k on the clock and is about the best small car I have owned. I also just bought a 2002 1.3 CDX Yaris but sadly this was beyond economical repair so I stripped it for spare parts. Kept lots for myself and sold some on an auction site.

I also belong to a campervan club. (I also own a VW T25 Autosleeper). The forum is much the same as this one. I hope to be able to give at least as much to this forum as I take from it.

Thanks for allowing me to register with the forum.

Uncle Buck: I had a problem with the turbo so had it reconditioned. Then the engine gave up the ghost so I had a recon fitted. I worked for a charity that, as part of the service, transported hospital patients home after procedures. We were paid an hourly rate plus 41p per mile. So it was worth the expense... and I love the car. Part of the high mileage is due to it being used by a driving school - and the clutch is fine!! The only other problem I had was with the accelerator pedal. It needed replacing but I got it done under a 'dodgy' warranty. (My son owns the garage!!!) Not illegal really, he just paid it out of the profits. Had to or he wouldn't have dared ask us to baby sit again.
