My yaris is two weeks old and I also had the same noise as youve described but it has now disappeared , I've only got 350 miles on it , first new car since passing my test in 1963 , yes I'm a sad old git ! .

Don't apologise. Buying a new car is the most expensive way to buy a new car. Buying a six months old hardly driven one is much better.. 25% less...

(I was raised in the parsimonious ways of the Scots:-)

PS

I hate the new plastic smell of car interiors..
