Hi

I am a new member and owner of a 2009 yaris 1.33 VVT-i TR this is my first ever post on any forum, So first of all hi to everyone.

Hope I am posting this question in the correct section.

I would now like to fit bluetooth,Sat Nav & Speed Camera Detectors and would really like to keep the dashboard uncluttered, and initially thought/wished it would be just a case of changing the radio/cd etc however from speaking to a couple of people and looking around the internet it seems its not so simple on the yaris, and that the choices seem to be either bluetooth parrot or other similar brands, can anyone confirm or advice on the best/simplest solution?

or is it a case of not possible [ according to better half]

You can get sat navs that have bluetooth built in and speed camera detectors, though there can be an annual charge for updates (unless you get a "package buy where maps and speed camera updates are included).

You have a storage compartment in front of the steering wheel. I store my sat nav in their, and when I want to use it I leave the storage lid up (acts as a sun shield for the satnav), wedge the satnave so it does not slide about (a beany hat I use, ok for windy days when you get out) and just drop the cable down to the 12v aux socket - which I have a twin usb connector, one for the sat nav and one so I can run anything else usb ie charge mobile or mp3 player etc.

I will have saved a lot of money by not changing the centre console, I can "hide" the sat nav when I am away from car, no suction rings on windscreen (giveaway that their is a sat nav about), does not take up space on dashboard, sat nav can easily be taken in to computer to update maps etc, sun does not shine on the screen (making it not viewable). Lots of benefits.

I have installed a Pioneer Appradio 2 in my car. I then got it to mirror the screen of my phone. Now it does exactly as my phone does (plugged in via HDMI). Plays my music, downloaded the Sygic sat-nav app which uses Tom Tom maps and has speed camera warnings etc. and also has bluetooth. A pain to get it all working correctly but once done is an absolute joy!
