Hi

I'm new and have found this site useful as I'm starting to sort out my own car rather than take it to the garage.

So far I've changed a rear wheel bearing, disks, pads and handbrake pads.

That is where I'm struggling a little, from reading the forum, I'm not alone.

The brakes seem to grab and I've done and changed everything except the cables. Next job is to do that, so I need a haynes manual.

I notice there were some posts about the hand brake positioning springs and needing bionic fingers to compress them and put on the cap....I've come up with a neat solution that does not cost a fortune: itty bitty cable ties. I use two and compress the spring completely, I can then use the tail of the cable tie to hold the spring in position too. Once the cap is on and in the "locked" position, use a knife to cut the plastic and pull out the bits. I'll take a photo....

Thanks for the help folks.
