I asked last week if there would be any interest in a free e-book on car detailing, and there was a fair amount of interest - so here is the download link.

Free Car Detailing E-Book

This is a free book I have secured for LOC and TOC members.

This e-book has been prepared by professional US detailers, and has 16 chapters of very in depth advice, on a subjects such as

  • waxing
  • cleaning with clay
  • detailing the engine bay
  • cleaning your cockpit

Anyone wishing to follow this book, and detail their car using professional quality tools and products should note that all the products in this book, and many more (including Megiuars) can be found at LexusCarCare.com, where we are currently having a summer sale.

  • All Microfiber Towels 20% Off
  • Select detailing clay & Detailing Sprays 15-20% Off
  • Select Einszett Products 15% Off

yeah - its a simple email confirmation thing.

this book is a living document, and the author updates it 2 -4 times a year as new and better products are bought out.

your email address will not be used for anything other than notifying you of updates to the book.

Can someone please pm me the exact error that they are getting, and the details they are entering?

I have just tried this myself, and had no problem subscribing and unsubscribing.

If I can get the details of the error, I will get this matter resolved.

I had no probs mate

good - hopefully everyone else is getting on OK too - I've not had any pm's

All working now and looks good

its quality advice - you know how fanatical Americans can be about getting their cars looking good - and this book has been written by an American detailers with literally years of experience.

Note that David doesn't just have years of experiences detailing cars professionally - look at the quality of the cars he is detailing in the book - Porsches, Ferraris etc - if he didn't know what he was talking about, he wouldn't be getting that sort of business. B)

as far as I know its just a http connection.

don't think a firewall would stop it - but some kinda corprate net nanny software might (it may be blocking the site it communicates to)

lol!

reminds me of a client I had a few years ago.

they were Win 95 only and our servers (for a large OLTP database / sales force automation project) had to be NT4.

They said we could have NT4, but they wouldn't touch it.

so we had our own NT domain, completely unchecked by the client.

this was back when napster was in its prime, and part of the server array we had purchased (£250k+ of IBM Netfinities) was a huge raid array (about 75 9 gig drives, of which we planned to only ever use about an inch stripe down the centre of the disk).

So - we had fast, unmetered and unchecked internet access, and a hugely unused disk array.

We had GIGS of mp3s, !Removed!, anything and everything.
