New Car, Old Phone.

I have a rather ancient phone; it is a Sony Ericsson W910i. it has bluetooth and worked well on my 2011 Prius Gen 3. I have just purchased a new 2014 Prius Gen 3 with the new Toyota touch & go system.

My Sony ericsson phone can be paired with the new prius but it does not load ALL the contacts in the car phone book. There are some contacts which get transferred from phone to car that I do not need in the car phone book. I have spent a lot of time trying to delete individual contacts from the car phone. The handbook seems non compatible with the car phone system.

I went to the dealers this afternoon and two salesman could not find how to delete contacts or add a new single contact to the car phone address book. They tried for approx 45 mins but gave up and said they would look into the problem. If necessary they would contact Toyota. I mentioned this forum to the salesmen and they suggested I put the problem on the forum to see if anyone had experienced this issue on the new Toyota touch & go system.

The salesman said they did not think it was my W910i phone as it worked on my 2011 Prius.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

IIRC you can get rid of all the contacts by removing all personal data, i.e. do a factory reset on the T&G. The contacts transferred to the car will be ones that are on the phone not ones that are on your sim card.

Thanks for your reply Keith. I have E-mailed your recommendation to the dealer. I am amazed there is no facility just to delete single contacts. I expect a phone call from the dealer tomorrow (Friday) to ask me to go in to get it all sorted out; I hope!!

As mentioned above T & G will only "pull" contacts stored in the phones memory and will not include contacts stored in a Sim, ensure all your contacts are in the phone memory then update the phone book on the T & G this will add the missing contacts.

No need to go to the dealers to delete them all, press the "SETUP" button, select "General" then "Delete personal data"
