Retrofit Cruise Control To A 2010 1.8 V-Matic T4?

I am looking at purchasing a 2010 1.8 V-matic T4 which seems to have every option fitted except cruise control.

On an Auris you can get the stalk and wiring from a dealer as a package as most Auris are already pre-wired for it - you take off the airbag, route the cable and connect it to an existing spare connector.

There is the blank plate on the side of the steering wheel on the one I am looking as so if a kit were available as per the Auris then that wouldnt be such a problem and it looks easy enough to fit.

I was wondering is the same thing were available for the Avensis as no cruise is a bit of a deal breaker - even more so on an automatic.

That looks similar to the Auris in so far as its pre-wired but swapping steering wheels is a bit keen.

The loom must be wired for it given it has every other option and there are other t4 with cruise. The manufacturing process will be similar so its probably the same part you need to fit like on the auris.

I will go and look at it tomorrow then call the local main agent to see if they have have done something similar.

if you have doubts that your car supports cruise control, go to official dealer and ask for quote. if he says it can be done for ~300 pounds, then you can do it yourself with these parts:

The car was sold before I had the chance to go and see it over the weekend but at least this option is available if the next one that comes up also doesnt have it fitted.
