Wireless Control For Mirror Auto-Fold

Greetings All. I am new to this Club and love the comments people share on this site.

I recently did this mod to make my mirrors auto-folding.

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/130999-diy-auto-folding-mirror/

However, I do not like the option to use the Ignition switch to control the folding mirrors.

I would like to use the remote fob to activate the auto-fold of the mirrors when I am out of the vehicle and lock it with the remote key.

My question - does anyone have an idea where I can pickup a +12V pulse coming from the door lock mechanism or the remote keyfob ? This is part of the Wireless Door Lock Control circuit as attached.

Ideally this pulse would be used to trigger the mirror auto-fold relays.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Regards

Peter

Probably the easiest place to pick up a door lock pulse feed is the connector block as this part of the loom goes into the drivers door. I'm not sure if it matters that the polarity reverses as you go from unlock to lock and vice-versa. Presumably you'd also leave a manual over-ride so that you can retract the mirrors e.g. to allow someone to pass on a narrow road.
