Mirror Testing....

Tested the Yaris TS mirrors yesterday, when some :censor: coming the other way, decided that he'd over take a bunch of cyclists, and drive straight at me.

Despite trying to get out the way, and much cusring and arm waving of the cyclists who he pretty much ran over in the process...we clouted mirrors.

Looking in my rear view..there was debris all over the shop...quick glance...and it wasn't mine! :-) It had folded in nicely...popped it back...tested the electrics...all ok... still thinking aobut turning around and giving this chap what for...and to claim for the damage to the paint on the mirror...but decided not to...he was a "boy racer type with a car full of mindless folk...I'd proably come off worse! anyways...checked later..and there wasn't even a mark on it! well pleased!

I suppose with a mirror clash...the storngers surives...and the weakness bites dirt....I was pretty fortunate this time...I can well imagine leccy mirrors arn't cheap to replace!

At last! A bit of fortune for the wee Yaris!

Arg, someone scuffed the side of my wing mirror. Covered it up in touch up paint, looks **** but not that noticeable. Sad thing is, it'd prolly cost over £100 to get it repainted or a new one fitted.

the yaris sidemirrors are invincible!

I clashed mirrors with some sort of horrible suzuki 4x4 excuse for a car the other day after the lady driving it decided to come charging down the centre of parked cars when she was supposed to give way..

anyway, I couldn't move over any more - and she wasn't prepared to move over; the mirrors collided and it sounded awful... I was grimacing... got out and checked, and there was not a scratch/scuff/mark/touch on it!

wonderful :D

Wicked...good to know I wasn't just lucky! ...well maybe just a little.

Last time it happend in my old Renault, the mirror flipped in, and smashed the side window!....as well as the glass in the mirror...I dunno!

They're not quite invincible but pretty strong. Some idiot decided two nights on the run to press my nearside mirror towards the door window and then push as hard as they could! It's bent the backing plate and so doesn't work quite as well as the other one but apart from it standing slighlty proud at the front on its door mount, you can hardly tell. My dealer is going to fix it when I take it in for its service.

Quoted under a tenner!
