Mytoyota Website Information Does It Work?

I have tried registering with the "MyToyota" website, which gives information about your car like service history etc. I just cannot get this site to work, it either says no information available and to take your car to your local Toyota dealer with the log book or the website page freezes when updating your information.

Has anyone successfully obtained information about their vehicle, especially service history from the MyToyota site?

It works for me. However I have used it since my car was purchased new (2012), and every dealer visit, service, service plan information, breakdown cover information, car tax information, etc is recorded. For example I received an e-mail reminder today that my car tax is due for renewal on 1st October.

I did have an issue earlier this year where the site wasn't allowing me to update the car tax - now remedied following discussion with Toyota GB, and after the team responsible took the issue away to establish a fix.

It is reliant on the owner and dealer loading information onto the site, and I am not sure whether it will show all the service history for a car bought used. Though that may be why Toyota have advised you take the logbook, etc into your dealer for retrospective input (?).

Perhaps this system only works with new vehicles that are registered with MyToyota from new? What type of information is covered with the vehicle's service history? Is there a record of any advisory work found when servicing?

My Toyota is seven years old with a full service history, all carried out by the same Toyota main dealer, so I thought that the information would have been recorded by Toyota..

As regards the service history , it shows what type of service it is (intermediate, full, etc), provides a reference number (not sure what that relates to), has a space for notes - where presumably advisories and the like could be recorded -, etc.

Really I see it more of a reminder tool, and not a replacement for a proper service history with receipts in support of work done, etc.
