Sound Systems On '10 1.8 Hybrid

Hi all, I have had this car since Jan '14 and am generally pleased with the overall drive experience. Previously I had Ford Mondeo and Focus models and my previous car was an '02 Ghia 1.8 Focus. One difference I detect is that the sound in the Auris is quite feeble and tinny in comparison. I am unsure if the problem is with the head unit or the Speakers. Changing the Speakers looks like a major task, so investigating the head unit I found a nice package by Koolertron that includes a GPS, bluetooth and many more features. Just wondering if anyone here has had experience of that item or more generally ideas about improving the sound system please?
