Have i made a mistake getting this engine type!

Its already had a new one fitted and i got a year's warranty with the AA!

Is there Something i should know??

It's very well documented on this forum Paul, but put simply it has a history of gasket failure - which sometimes leads to a replacement engine. Toyota extended it's warranty to help cover a lot of owners, but obviously certain conditions apply. I hope the new engine is kind to you.

Keep a close eye on the oil level & the coolant header tank - if either of those two start to lose significant amounts of fluids or you find oil in the coolant, not good ......

Some have been totally fine, but others very unlucky.
