Cardan Shaft/universal Joint

I have to replace the cross piece of the universal joint of my cardan shaft.

My car is a RAV4 2.0 4wheel drive year 2002

My measurements are diameter 23mm, length 58mm.

My supplier says this is wrong, it has to be diameter 22mm.

Does anybody knows the exact diameter, because I have measured it under the car, and maybe not exact.

Thank you.

I'm not sure I understand "cross piece" or which dimensions you are referring to. CV joints are normally defined by the number of external and internal spline teeth - 26 and 27 respectively in your case.

My topic of yesterday is not clear, so I make a new one with a photo.

I want to replace the cross piece of the universal joint of the cardan shaft.

This shaft is under the car from the front (motor) and the rear axel.

The diameter i have measured is 23mm but my suplier said the diamater is 22mm

(lenght 58mm)

Because is is difficult to measure the right diameter I wil ask if somebody knows the right measurements.

Wouldn't have a clue about the cup diameter and Toyota don't supply the UJ - just the complete shaft. However it's not unusual for the eye of the joint to be edge chamfered so it's difficult to measure the cup diameter. To be certain, I guess you'd need to remove the old joint to match up a replacement. You're lucky that the joint is retained by circlips - many joint are staked making replacement more difficult.
