Charging Problem?

Hi

I have a 2007 RAV4, and I wonder if I have a charging problem:

I charged the Battery this weekend. All fine. (by the way, I have a defa enginge heater and charger, with a display inside, where I can see the Battery status)

When I went driving today, everything was okay, the display showed 14,4v, so the Battery was charging. After I had been driving about 10 minutes, the display showed 12,3v??? when I removed my foot from the gas pedal, the display showed 14,4V again.

But when I touched the pedal again, it went straight down to 12.3v again.....

This happende when I was driving for a while. When I stopped at the shop, and drove back home, about 2 minutes, nothing happened, it showed 14.4v all the way.

What can this be?

Sorry for the english guys, from Norway :blushing:

The Rav model has an intelligent alternator which includes a freewheel clutch on the drive pulley. The output voltage will fluctuate between normal Battery voltage and the regulated maximum output of the alternator dependent on a number of external factors - the variation you observe isn't unusual.
