Hi guys, just wondering how much MPG do you get out of your Auris? I have a 1.3 and get 32.2-36MPG in town and today I did a 400 mile trip, ran the fuel right down to only 2 miles and then filled up £25.00 fuel and it took me there and back with 70 miles still remaining???? im really confused if my computers going crazy but it returned 54 MPG constant through out the whole journey but after my calculations it would burn around £35.00 fuel for 400 miles, but hey! Better for me!

What sort of MPG do you guys get?

And also, when in gear 1 and then lets say you take it to about 3,500 RPM my auris makes a loud whine sound, it sounds normal but just wanted to confirm it. It doesent happen in any other gear, just first gear.

My previous 2009 Auris 1.33 did up to 37mpg on my daily commute into Birmingham City Centre - 6.5 miles each way and each way took between 40 minutes to an hour. Had up to 48mpg using brim-to-brim calculations on a run - motorway speeds returning from Skye, with two people aboard, rear seats folded and a full load of luggage.

My current 2012 Auris 1.33 seems to do better at up to 42 around town - but doesn't encounter the same stop-start traffic, as I retired just over three years ago at 54.

The bar type fuel gauge on the Auris (and other Toyotas) doesn't operate in a linear way. See the following as an example: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/157794-auris-133-fuel-bar-fuel-consumption-and-all-that-stuff/

Don't think I would take the car up to 3,500rpm in first gear
