2010 Auris 1.33Vvti Shift Indicator

Hi I have noticed my shift indicator tells me to shift down while driving at 80mph @3200 rpm then I drop down to 5th from 6th and till 70mph @2800 rpm it then tells me to shift back up?? Anyone else's do this??

Think the only time mine tells me to shift down is when I encounter an incline - even a slight one..

Mine has always done that. Seems that sixth gear is so high that even the slightest incline can trigger a change down indication.

It's due to the ecu determining that you want to still accelerate when going up a hill. So to prevent you losing too much speed and to help the enigine accelerate harder, it's suggesting you change down a gear. Mind, it's only a suggestion...
