And It's Good Bye From Me.

Hi readers, I have just traded in my RAV invincible for a new yaris excel 1.33. I have had every model Rav from new and they have all been the petrol version apart from the last one which had the 2.2 diesel.

I know 18 months is not a long time but the new Rav and the diesel engine just didn't do for me. I found the club a inspiration to me in information which enabled me to carry out all the tasks Mr Toyota would charge handsomely for.

Once out of warranty not a single Rav visited the toyota garage for a service.I must say the petrol model rav's were a easy vehicle to work on once you became aware of little differences. The down side was the 33mpg I got but there was no DPF DMF plus other worries.

Having owned every model Rav from new there was only one warranty claim. A steering column stalk shorted out resulting at night with the lights on dipped and indicating left the light would go to side light and then back onto dip when the turn cancelation operated. Not much fun but it did make you concentrate.

Tips from the forum like how to correctly adjust the rear brakes. Change the oils in the gearbox's and the diff. these proved a great help to me and I thank those that gave up their time to post these tips.

I have only made a few contributions in comparision.

So I now say good bye to you and transfer my attention to the yaris section.

I have found the the members a good bunch, so once again thank you.

Steve
