2014 Auris Icon+ Hybrid Reversing Camera And Beeps

Hi again all,

When I slip into reverse my camera view pops up on screen (which is great) but there is a continuous beep beep beep beep even when there is nothing behind me.

I reverse towards another car (parking up) and I don't notice any difference on the tone or frequency of the beeps when I slowly approach another car. I would expect it to steadily increase faster the closer I get.

Is this something you have noticed or do I have a fault? Cheers, Red!

The beep can be turned off by your dealer. Unless you have reverse sensors, you don't get a beep beep the closer you get to something

I do have reverse sensors at the back only (could do with the front but wasn't keen on the park assist!). I wonder if there is a way to do it manually.... it's very distracting when you can see there is nothing all around you.

Picked up my Auris Excel today and got the dealer to cut the reversing beeps to just 1 beep, you can then hear the reverse sensors. They just plugged their computer in and reprogrammed it in minutes.

Many thanks Greigster, I guess I'll have to call into the dealer then. I wonder if there is a sequence of instructions to be able to do it without the dealer.

If you go to page 757 of the manual, it shows all the customisations that can be done........sadly, not many by the owner, although I have read people can do them if you have some sort of plug in thingy,

Thanks a lot Greigster for the specific page ref. Though when a manual has >757 pages I begin to shudder!

I suspect it will need a laptop with an adapter and an expensive software package to do such a thing.
