Annoying Rattle Found But How To Stop It

Hi ,

I have a 2011 Auris 1.33 TR and lately I have an annoying rattle coming from the dashboard. Its getting really bad now and its a loud rattle which you can even hear over the radio. If I put my hand on the part circled (see image), the rattling stops.

I was thinking of trying to remove the gear gaitor and see if there is anything lose. Does anyone know how it comes off?

What other things can I try as this is becoming really annoying. I was not expecting to have rattles on a 3 year old toyota to be honest. My 10 year old peugeot never squeaked one bit. The car only has 25000miles.

anyone???at least some tips on how to remove the gear gaiter?

Put your fingers in the gator at the bottom and grab the trim and pull up, it only clips in, to replace put the front in first and then the bottom. To me it sound like a screw either missing or loose as there is nowt else behind there.
