Recently had my engine warning light and VSC and park brake circuit warnings come on dash. Used code reader to read faults, well only one P1271 - short or open circuit in pressure discharge valve circuit. Rail is ok....just fitted new doh! did some wiring checks to rail - ok but need and idea of voltage readings/wiring diagrams or where to go next. Has anyone got a manual for this engine as i have had more joy looking for rocking horse ****!!

Not a common code nor one that has any sort of technical service bulletin, looking at the diag' process you will need a diagnostic computer capable of sending/receiving instruction from the car whilst its being driven as the diag' has tests to be carried out whilst driving at 50kmh. A full repair manual can be found here: www.toyota-tech.eu access is chargeable by the hour but all info can be saved/printed .

Cheers Devon Aygo, got that info and just seen the site with the manuals by the hour. Thanks anyway. i would have an odd one, here's hoping it's just a broken wire or looks like an ECU. I might have to bite the bullet and pop it into dealer to get then to check it. They'll probably tell me what i already know!!

Any update on how you fared here? In a similar situation myself now

not to be confused with fuel rail pressure sensor

pressure discharge valve to regulate an as near as constant rail pressure just same as fpr on a petrol rail

short or open circuit code identifies this sensor or wiring isn't right but you already know that

is it a two wire solenoid where you can disconnect the plug and check resistance of coil for a start?

can you check fuel rail pressure with a guage to see if that's ok or not

0.85 to 1.05 ohms it says

that's a good start to rule out the coil for open or short circuit

then check for short circuit on 2 remaining wires

job done
