54 Plate Avensis 2.0 D4D - 5Th Gear Slipping To 4Th

Hi all,

car today started slipping from 5th gear down to 4th - hat to push it up to 5th on the motorway and keep my hand pushed against the stick.

I take it's the gearbox but any idea and what cost is likely to be?

if you want 5th gear replaced it can be done with the gearbox in situ, Only place I could find for parts was Toyota, other choice is get a second hand one and put it in.

Does that sort it then? What's the cost on a Toyota part and what would I likely pay at a trusted garage that didn't rip me off?
