Hi,

It looks like I need new discs. I meassured the thickness yesterday and it was between 22 and 23 mm thick. As far as I understand that means the discs are worn out. Now I don't know if I should buy Toyota original discs or black diamond discs from MSW.

I would like some adwise wich to buy. And yes, I will also change the brake pads too.

I use Eurocarparts, very straightforward, good supplier and can return goods if wrong. I have an Avensisd4d liftback Mar 2002

http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/ is euro car parts sister company it tends to be cheaper.

I still find my local motor factors cheaper (andrew pages) I tend to stick with blueprint or mintex, although last time round for the rears I got Bosch as they were on offer. (I was surprised to get new springs clips with the pads, so that was a bonus).

I used MTEC discs & Ferodo Premier pads but largely because I considered the existing brakes on my then car (a 57 plate 2.2 Tourer) as poor. They certainly imo improved brake feel & seemed to have increased stopping power too.

btw if by MSW you mean Motorsport World of Strathaven then I believe from a comment on another forum that they may have ceased trading.
