Not the only manufacturer to have problems with fuel pipes - Renault, Peugeot, General Motors, Ford, VW, Honda and Nissan have had similar recalls.

And some of those aren't exactly open about telling anyone either.

So they do, but that doesn't make it right, Someone needs to get to the bottom of why this is happening.

They could continue with tried and tested parts but then their cars would become out of date very quickly. At least Toyota aren't run by Apple!

Since the "unintended acceleration" recall, Toyota have completely changed the way cars are recalled, much more open and honest about their product which means more cars recalled, it does not mean the product is any worse, it means they are far more pro active in sorting out potential future problems at an early stage

To put the record straight there are NO Toyota cars affected by the latest recall in the UK, just 9K Lexus vehicles

Makes you wonder if they can't get brake pipes right though. Who is testing these cars? Don't see much recalls on on cars that have higher quality controls. Think Toyota is more worried at Quantity then Quality,Hence why they are slipping down the *Premier* league.

By Toyota's own admission, their quality dipped, the CEO stood up in court and admitted it. However there has been a complete change in QC over the last few years, the product has never been better. There is a programme of ongoing QC for all new models, any new model that has a problem is logged and reported before any work is carried out on it, moving forward, I am sure this quality will result in less and less recalls, although nobody will ever be completely free of problems

Just go the Auto section of the New York Times & look at how many manufacturers are having recalls & in what nos ... Not unique to Toyota.

Also, so far the alleged death count from 1 of GM's issues is up to 27 :(
