Hey There

I have been going over the hundreds of previous topics and replies regarding Toyota Aygo and its famous leak.

My Toyota Aygo black 2007 has a leak, however it cannot be identified. Basically, only the back seats are wet, the footwells are dry and so is the boot but the back seats are becoming increasingly soaked.

I contacted Toyota and they wanted £250 to just find the leak, I'm a student, there is no way i can afford that right now. Following this phone call i contacted my local garage who had my car for 2 days and unable to identify where it is coming from?!?

Has anyone else had this problems where only the back seats are wet?

Any info on this would be great!

Many Thanks

Nicole

How is the car parked overnight? On a slope, facing downhill?

Any trace of dampness or staining on the roof lining above the rear seat?

Thank you for your reply.

My car is parked on the street but neither on a slope or on a curb just flat.

There are no stains on the roof no?

Before it was investigated i would of presumed it was coming from the back window as the wet stains started diagnally from the window to the middle of the back seat but before it even went in the local garage i took through a car wash and sat in the back. No sign on a vidable leak.

Its a complete mystery! Its like having a wet dog! No one wants a wet dog, the same as no one wants a a wer car (weep weep)

Any suggestions off anyone would be extremely gratful

Thank you

The leak may not be replicated by a car wash given the relatively short period of time the car wash lasts. From what you've said above, is it more one side of the seat that gets wet?

I'd be inclined to check the rear window and the high level brake light/washer jet. Also if it is more on one side, I would have a look at the rear side window/door seal (if it is a five door car).

No sorry, i should have written 'windows' the stain appears as though it comes in from both windows and into the middle of the seats, as its got wetter the seats are just soaking water up like a sponge.

Its is a 5 door car, how do i check this myself if a car wash doest pick it up? Would you know please? Otherwise i shall have to check it in to another garage as it wasnt picked up at the last ... Stress!!

Thank you

Get a few sticks of that kids chalk used on black boards, and rub the chalk around all the rubber door seals, including the boot, then when it rains next, if it's coming in over the rubber, the water will wash the chalk away .

have you thought of taking the rear seat out of the car as the water maybe running under the seat and soaking up through the sponge base, the seat unclips on the front edge in two place about 8 inches / 200mm in from each side then lift the front edge upwards and slide out the base if water is getting under you will see it for sure now if its dry there will be water staining
