Police State? Hmmm, but I agree with the sentiment.

I'd much prefer a traffic copper to stop you if you were speeding and give you a ticking off rather than an instant fine. Or maybe they could actually stop a dodgy looking car and give it a going over. I do think crims and their ilk will just clone plates and drive around happy and not stopped, whereas you and I who may have forgotten about their MOT for a week will end up fined and criminalised.

It's getting to the point that being a crim is probably an easier life choice.
