Hit From Behind , Now Our Rav Is Dead !?

Hi All

Just wondered if anyone had a similar experience , we have a XT4 Late 2006 model 5 door rav4 , on Friday someone went into the back of us at a junction , so we limped home , tailgate will need replacing , the whole thing i should think , but the thing thats strange , we have just gone to it , and the car is dead , totally dead , doesnt have any lights nothing , you have to open the car manually just to get in

Is it possible something has been knocked up front , from a hit from behind ?

Hi there,

sorry to hear that your rav has been shunted, , the reason it might be dead is that the tailgate is so bent that it is not making contact with the switch that operates the boot light and it is staying on. Recharge the Battery get inside with all the doors shut and pull the seat back forward and check that the boot light goes out.
