Electric Window Regulator Connector For 1997 E Gs

Hi, I'm looking for some help identifying a part so I can finish replacing the motor for the driver side front electric window on my Carina. I am a complete novice at this - this is the first repair I've attempted so all advice welcome! I bought the regulator over the internet and was able to fit it into the door but the connectors it came with are ring connectors and don't fit into the existing plastic sockets. I think I have two options:

1. (My preference) Source a spade(?) connector like the existing one (pictures attached), cut the ring connectors from the new motor and replace with the new spade connector. This would allow me to use the existing plastic fittings.

2. Cut the plug clip from the car electrical system and crimp ring connectors on to them instead. Find out what plastic fittings to use with ring connectors and get some to fit to the new regulator and the car electrics so I can join them together.

The problem I have is that I don't know the exact names of the components - either the spade connector used on the original motor or the plastic things that allow the motor to connect to the rest of the car electrics. I'm also concerned that the connectors are designed for different ampage's and I don't want to fit the wrong one by accident and cause any serious problems.

Please let me know if you can identify the existing connector from the first two photos or where I can find more information about the plastic fittings and how to fit them (e.g. YouTube link would be great!).

Many thanks,

Colin
