Hilux 2010 2.5 Engine Knocking Sound

Hi,

I am new to the forum. I have recently bought. 2010 2.5d hilux with 80k on click and full history. The engine appears to have a Metallic knocking sound. The van runs great apart from this sound. I know there were a few issues with injectors pre2008. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Not just the normal diesel knock ?

My 2.5 used to knock especially on a light throttle around 1800 revs, the 3.0 does but to a lesser degree.

Try Shell V-Power or 250ml of 2 stroke oil in a full tank of diesel

More of a rattle. Will try the better fuel and 2 stroke. Thanks

Yeah it is more of a rattle, noted for being a bit noisy but bulletproof
